“I’ve had the pleasure of attending several of Jac’s art classes. Before my first class with Jacqueline I hadn’t painted in decades. Yet each experience has been lovely and I always end up learning something new.”

- Charisma (student)

“Your classes are so imaginative and give my son a safe space to be himself and go into more colorful worlds. During the pandemic when the world seemed to be so scary, you gave my son a wonderful opportunity to just be a kid and to dream up whatever reality he wanted. It’s beautiful to watch.”

- Cori (parent)

“Beginning of the pandemic, Jac organized an art class via zoom for all ages. It was wonderful to see her creative mind and be able to follow her as she directed her audience from her home to ours to help ease our brain and soul.”

- Rosa (student)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long are your classes?

A: Each class is about 45 minutes, plus an extra 10-15 minutes of set up/take down. The time frame for special events such as birthday parties and family paint days are negotiable.

Q: How are your classes different from other studio art classes?

A: I firmly believe that all people have creative capabilities. Unfortunately our current public education system has a one size fits all approach to learning. Students process information in a variety of ways. I invite them to become acquainted with artists throughout history, sample different materials and make art that resonates with them. Healing He(art) classes promote independent thinking and encourage students to experiment.

Q: Do you only teach in person?

A: I offer classes in-person and via Zoom.

Q: Do you sell individual classes or do you have to buy a pack of classes?

A: Classes are sold individually and by packs of 5. I also offer art party class packages.

Q: Will my child be bringing home the projects they make during class?

A: Usually, yes. Healing He(ART) classes are not a product based classes, they are process based. I encourage students to play around with different media, and while this may result in taking home terrariums or bringing home a project, the end result isn’t our main goal. I provide materials to tap into different senses. The class projects are open ended.

Q: What do you use to teach?

A: It’s a mix of PowerPoint presentations, audio and visual samples, art supplies, mixed media, and natural elements.

Q: What ages do you teach?

A: My curriculum is divided into different sections, ages 2-6, 7-12 and 13+. But I tailor the curriculum to the individuals, so that I can teach all ages, because a 13 year-old, 18 year-old and 42 year-old student will all process information differently. Currently, my youngest student is 2 years old, and my oldest student is 78 years old. I believe that you’re never too young or old to be creative.

Q: What materials do you provide for class?

A: Materials will vary per class, I offer crayons, play dough, markers, paint chips, foam sheets, a variety of natural items like fruit, leaves, veggies, flowers. But it really depends on the class I am teaching.
