Primary Puffy Pollock: Play-Doh and McDonald’s
Primary Puffy Pollock: Play-Doh and McDonald’s
What’s the story behind this painting?
In the earlier part of my childhood, a majority of the fun and happy moments I can recall centered on toys and TV. I took solace in front of the television set, but doing so made me more susceptible to wanting everything that was in a commercial. I remember seeing commercials for a Play-Doh play set or a Fisher Price McDonald’s themed toy. I recall eventually acquiring my own Play-Doh set, and opening up the bright yellow container that had the red and blue label. I can still remember the smell of Play-Doh as I molded it in my hands and onto some of my other toys. Afterwards, though it was a pain to clean up. I integrated the primary colors red, yellow, and blue into my painting to honor this childhood memory.
