What’s the story behind this painting?

When we watched music videos on VH1, MTV, or another channel, some music videos played more often than others based on their popularity, like Snoop Dogg’s “Who am I (What’s My Name?),” or Alanis Morrisette’s “You Oughta Know,” or that “Mmmm Mmm” song by the Crash Test Dummies. Of course, we watched R&B and pop music videos as well. The one I remembered the most was Michael Jackson’s “Remember the Time.” As a kid I thought it was the coolest video. The setting was supposed to be ancient Egypt with Eddie Murphy playing a pharaoh. Among this primarily all black cast were other famous faces, like Magic Johnson and Iman. Of course, Michael Jackson and his sleek gold body suit stole the show. I was mesmerized by his fancy footwork and how he strutted around on screen. He was so suave, assertive, and confident. I extracted colors from what I remembered from the music video and applied them to the canvas, especially the iridescent gold.
