What’s the story behind this painting?

I have to admit that half of the programs (if not more) that I watched on TV during my early youth in the 90s were uncensored or inappropriate for children. Since we didn’t have cable all the time, I gravitated towards the FOX channel in the evenings to watch reruns of “In Living Color.” I must have been six or seven years old when I began watching this series. Although I remembered Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx, the parts I recalled the most vividly were the cast members playing around with paint on painter’s tarps during the opening credits. Jim Carrey threw paint balls into the air while another cast member spray painted the camera lens. The red, yellow, and green colors vibrated against the white and black backgrounds. After credits rolled, the show segued to the Fly Girls dancing on a roof top. Of course, memories of these colors from the opening credits wouldn’t be complete without the theme song from Heavy D and The Boyz: “You can do what you wanna do In Living Color (In Living Color).” I fondly remember the colors and graphics. The show itself wasn’t just about sketch comedy: it was an embodiment of creativity.
