This design illustrates the turmoil in my surroundings through violent gestural brushstrokes. Highly saturated with fiery reds, pinks, and purple oxide, anger and other inflammatory feelings convey my emotional implosion. On the canvas, anger consumes my sense of self. The unusually long brushstrokes and open composition entail anger’s ability to reach outwards and invade other spaces. The frenzied applications of paint in multiple directions convey some of the undesirable outcomes of grieving that I experienced: self-destructive behaviors as well as my decision to go into isolation.
